SAMHSA expects a CCBHC to get a mobile crisis response to a person within 3 hours, 24 hours a day. Vandoit builds the Ford Transit that gets your clinicians there, with a private, powered, connected space to do the assessment when they arrive.
Built in Blue Springs, Missouri. CPC Integrated Health and Lutheran Family Services already run these units.

CCBHC criteria require round-the-clock crisis services, including mobile crisis teams. A phone or video response can be enough in some cases, but the clinic has to be able to send people in person, either with its own team or through a Designated Collaborating Organization.
Most teams start that work in a personal car or a spare fleet sedan. That gets staff to the address. It doesn't give them a quiet place to talk, somewhere to chart, or power for a laptop and a telehealth screen at 2 a.m. in a parking lot.

The vehicle doesn't make the clinical decisions. It removes the logistics that slow a team down.
From 988, your own crisis line, law enforcement or a school. Your team picks a unit that is already stocked, charged and online.

Assessment and de-escalation in a climate-controlled room off the street, with swivel seats, a bench long enough to lie down on, and an optional privacy wall.
Document in your EHR from the clinician desk over onboard Wi-Fi or Starlink, bring in a prescriber by telehealth, and book the follow-up before you leave.
Response targets, staffing and protocols are yours and your state's. The unit is built around the way your team already works.
Walk-through layout from the rear doors to the side slider, so staff and clients never have to squeeze past each other.
Two 20-inch swivel captain chairs and a bench, separated from the cab by a bulkhead with a viewing window. Add a solid wall or curtain to split the van into two rooms.
Pivot work surface, a 28-inch screen on a pivot mount for the clinician and a 38-inch screen for the client. Twelve 110-volt outlets through the build.
Sink module with gray tank and portable hot water, so staff can follow hygiene protocol and run basic health screenings alongside the psychiatric assessment.
360-degree camera system with four exterior cameras, one interior camera and remote monitoring, plus awning lighting for night calls.
Interiors mount to a modular track, so a unit can be built as an open crisis room, split into two rooms, or set up as a clinic. Scroll to walk through each one. The model is a schematic, not to scale. The photos are real Vandoit builds.

Add the private wall and the unit becomes two private spaces, one for the clinician station and one for the client. A privacy curtain is the lighter option.

Swap the bench for an exam table and light, and the same Transit can run basic health screenings. A TL-30 medication safe and an under-vehicle wheelchair lift are also on the options list.

This is the configuration we quote first. Every line can be scaled up or down to fit your program and budget.
The battery bank charges off the engine while the team drives, from the roof when the unit is parked, and from shore power at the building.

CPC wanted to reach residents who can't get to one of its five locations. Its Clinical Assessment Unit has expanded its ability to deploy mobile crisis response across the region.

Lutheran Family Services runs fully equipped mobile crisis units with its EHR platform integrated in the unit.
No stock vans. What you see is what leaves the shop in Blue Springs.
CCBHC funding runs on grant periods, Medicaid rates and fiscal years. We can plan the build around a grant start date or fiscal year.

Already have a Transit in the fleet? We build the crisis unit inside it and quote the upfit on its own.
No. The criteria set the response standard, not the equipment. SAMHSA says a CCBHC must be able to provide an in-person mobile response within three hours, 24 hours a day, directly or through a Designated Collaborating Organization. A dedicated unit is one way to meet that standard reliably. Check your state's certification requirements for specifics.
A crisis unit is laid out for conversation and de-escalation: seating that faces each other, an optional privacy wall, a clinician desk and adjustable mood lighting. A mobile medical clinic is laid out around an exam table and equipment. Because our interiors mount to a modular track, the same van can take on either layout later.
Yes. Each unit carries onboard Wi-Fi and Starlink hardware, and your team uses your own EHR from the clinician station. Lutheran Family Services runs its EHR platform from its units.
No. Vandoit is a Ford Pro partner and Qualified Vehicle Modifier, and our modifications don't void the Ford factory warranty. The upfit is covered by the Vandoit warranty, and our in-house service team supports it after delivery.
It can be. We install an under-vehicle wheelchair lift as an option, with the added suspension it needs.
It depends on the layout, whether a chassis is in stock and our production schedule. Your quote includes a timeline, and we can plan the build around a grant start date or fiscal year.
Twenty minutes, no pitch deck. We ask what your crisis program does, how your team responds today, your budget and funding status, and your timeline. If a Vandoit unit is a fit, we set up a full design session.
We'll show you what a unit built for that looks like, and what it takes to get one on the road.
